Overview
Utilizing the parent-child hierarchy feature helps you get the full benefit of your LinkSquares Analyze contract living repository. A parent-child hierarchy consists of related agreements in a linked hierarchy. Utilizing the Parent-Child hierarchy linking will provide further organization of your agreements, and quick search results. Having access to grouped agreements will provide time efficiency in review and reporting.

Process
Filtering Agreements
LinkSquares recommends that Managers and Administrators link related agreements that share a party. Begin by filtering down to the agreements that you want to link.
Search by agreement name via the search bar at the top of the main Agreements page. Alternatively, filter agreements by tags using the Tags drop-down.
To filter by more than one tag, click the + Advanced Filters button and select Tags from the drop-down. Add additional tag filters by clicking the + icon. Leverage the Tag Color data point if needed.
LinkSquares recommends the bulk tag feature to clean up party tags. To learn more about the bulk tag feature, reference our article on Editing Types and Tags in Bulk.
You can also search the content of the agreements to find related ones by choosing the Agreement Content data point from the drop-down.
Once you have filtered down to related agreements, you can create a hierarchy.
Parent-Child Hierarchy
LinkSquares parent-child hierarchies all roll up to a parent.
In the above diagram, the Grandparent is likely a Master Service Agreement (MSA) or similar agreement. The Parent might be a Statement of Work (SOW) or other supplemental documentation.
LinkSquares does not currently support hierarchies where one child has many parent agreements.
Generally, users are successful with parent-child hierarchies when the Master Service Agreement is the parent, and any Amendments, Work Orders, etc. are children. There is no limit to the number of children or grandchildren agreements a parent agreement can have.
LinkSquares recommends implementing parent-child hierarchies across your agreements so that you can view related agreements from two different starting points:
- The main Agreements page by clicking the parent-child hierarchy icon
- The Links tab within the individual agreement view
