Overview
Users may be unable to access the Microsoft Office store to download the LinkSquares Finalize add-in for Microsoft Word.
In this case, users are required to manually sideload the Word add-in.
Note: If users are blocked from the Microsoft Office store, there may be additional security blocks that prevent the Word add-in from functioning.
Process
The following process outlines how to sideload the Word add-in on macOS.
1. Select the attached file (located at the bottom of this article) to save it to the Downloads folder of your computer. It can also be saved to your desktop or another easily accessible location.
2. Navigate to the following folder:
/Users/<username>/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word/Data/Documents

To avoid manually locating these folders, open the Finder.
Then, press the Command + Shift + G keys simultaneously.
Enter the folder path outlined above.
Note: This folder path has a username placeholder for your username. Please ensure that you replace this substitution with the username from your computer login credentials.
Double-click the blue path when finished. A new window should appear within the Documents folder.
If you have a wef folder within the Documents folder, click on it.
If you do not have a wef folder, create one.
3. Move the file from step one into the wef folder.
4. Open a new document within Microsoft Word.
5. Navigate to Insert > Add-ins > My Add-ins.
After locating My Add-ins, click the downwards pointing arrow. Click LinkSquares.
6. Click on the newly added button on the Home tab of the ribbon to launch the Word add-in and log in to get started.

Tips for Finding Folders

Unable to find the <username> folder?
- Go to a Finder window and press the Command + Shift + H keys simultaneously.

- Go to a Finder window and press the Command + Shift + ‘.’ (period) keys simultaneously.

Unable to find the <com.microsoft.Word> folder?
- This folder will likely be named Microsoft Word.
