Getting Started
Template Types
There are four types of templates. The type of template used could be determined by the end use of the agreement or what has been pre-determined within your organization.
- Draft templates (Our Paper): Designed for draft agreements on your party’s paper
- Request forms (Our Paper): Intended for requests that legal draft an agreement on your behalf.
- Intake workflows (3rd Party Paper): Designed to submit agreements sent to you by a third party for legal review.
- Signature-only: Beneficial for completed agreements that can be immediately sent out for signature (e.g., pricing forms).
Each template will be tailored to suit your workflow and the specific requirements of your agreement creation.

Filtering and Searching for Templates
There are two ways to search for a template that you will use to create an agreement.
- Search by name in the search bar directly above the template name
- Search using the filter by Type on the right-hand side of the page
The availability of the template page and the templates accessible to individual users will be determined by the account Administrators.
Review of Template Types
- Our Paper (Draft & Requests)
- Third-Party Paper (Intake)
- Signature Only
Our Paper
Our Paper Templates are broken into two types - Draft Templates and Requests:
Draft Templates
Our Paper draft templates are designed to streamline workflow creation using existing documents with pre-approved company language. As part of this custom configuration, modifications to a document can be specific to each new agreement workflow created.
Examples of when you would use a draft template:
- Your company NDA, MSA

Request Templates
Our Paper request templates allow users to submit a request for legal approval. This is an important differentiation from Our Paper: Drafts that are used to allow non-authorized users to still interact with the Legal Team via Finalize. The Legal team will determine what documentation can be created per company policy.
Examples of when you would use a request template:
- Amendment to existing contract, Agreement Termination

3rd Party Paper
Third-party paper templates are an intake of an existing document from a third party. Agreement detail questions can help dynamically set up approval workflows and tag structures, as well as provide information on the contract for ease of internal review and info-gathering
For example:
- Configure the template to set an approval workflow, allowing users to upload a third party's MNDA.
- Configure the template to set up a workflow for review of an outside company vendor's terms and conditions.
- Legal teams may have relevant information for Drafters to submit along with the document. Third-Party template is ideal for this situation
Third-party templates are referred to throughout Finalize and Reporting as Intake workflows.

Signature-Only Templates
Signature Only templates are less frequently used compared to the Third Party or Our Paper templates.
Use case for Signature Only template:
- The agreement is created and no review is needed. The agreement is ready to be sent to signatories for signature
Note:
Account and template settings may be configured in a way that restricts access to certain templates. If you believe you should have access to a template that isn't visible to you, please contact your administrator. They can review the account and template settings
