Overview
Comparing two versions of an agreement to find what the other party has added, removed, or updated is time-consuming and error-prone.
Document Comparison in LinkSquares Finalize automates this process and gives you the confidence you need to complete the redline process efficiently.
Process
Compare any two agreement versions in Finalize and generate a document that surfaces all present differences using the Track Changes mode. You are ready to review within seconds, knowing every change is highlighted for you.
- Choose two agreement versions.
- Choose one version to be the original.
- Download a new document with Track Changes enabled that highlights the differences.
Notes:
- Only DOCX files are compatible with Document Comparison.
- Downloading a comparison will not create a new document in Finalize.
- If Track Changes is enabled in either document for comparison, the changes will be accepted, and that version of the document will be compared.
To utilize this feature, select an agreement from the main Agreements page.
Locate the All versions section and enable the COMPARE DOCUMENTS toggle.
- After enabling the toggle, checkboxes will appear next to eligible agreement versions.
- Mark the checkboxes next to two agreement versions for comparison.
- Choose COMPARE DOCUMENTS.
Within the dialog window, select the original version before clicking DOWNLOAD.
Note:
The document created first will be selected by default.
The document will be downloaded locally.
After downloading, un-select the checkboxes and repeat the process if needed.
Comparing PDF Files
Users may want to compare PDFs or compare PDFs to DOCX files.
To utilize this feature:
- Download the PDF as a Word document.
- Upload the DOCX file back into Finalize as a new agreement version.
- Leverage the Document Comparison feature (DOCX to DOCX).
